Tuscan Wood Columns

The Tuscan column can be seen as a Roman simplification of the Greek Doric Column, and one of the last secondary orders developed by the architects and designers of Rome. The Tuscan column is stockier in proportion to the Doric. Unlike the Greek Doric, it includes a base and a shaft enriched by an astragal ring; however, the Tuscan features a smooth, unadorned shaft.
